IGCSE Programme – Years 10 & 11
In Years 10 and 11, students follow the IGCSE programme, choosing seven core subjects that lead to the internationally recognised International Certificate of Education (ICE). This qualification provides a strong academic foundation and prepares students for advanced study in Years 12 and 13.
Students are required to take:
English as a First or Second Language
One Foreign Language: French, German, or Spanish
Mathematics or Additional Mathematics
One Humanities Subject: Geography or History
One Science Subject: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
One Specialised Subject: Computer Science or Business Studies
Global Perspectives
Students are also encouraged to take additional subjects if they wish to deepen their knowledge or better prepare for future academic goals.
The IGCSE is designed to be flexible and inclusive, accommodating varying levels of knowledge, learning needs, and language proficiency—particularly for students whose first language is not English.
Health & Physical Education
In addition to academic subjects, students participate in Health and Physical Education. PE lessons take place in the school gym or at external facilities, and include activities such as swimming, skating, hiking, and mountaineering.
Health education also covers nutrition and wellness, teaching students how to create balanced meal plans and monitor their overall health. These activities support the development of both physical fitness and mental wellbeing, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
